Romania is a southeastern country of Europe, bordering with Hungary, Moldova, Bulgaria, Serbia, and Ukraine and its capital is Bucharest city.
The country has a lot of natural diversity like Carpathian Mountains, Danube River, Danube Delta, Black Sea and lots of cultural diversity (beautiful churches, castles, medieval towns, museum, impressive architectural styles).
Romania is one of the cheapest destinations from Europe, despite the multitude of tourist sights that the country offers to its visitors, and is considered a hidden gem of Europe.
One of the most beautiful destinations in Romania where you can find reasonable prices for accommodation, sightseeing, and food, is BRASOV CITY. BRASOV is a beautiful mountain city, in the well-known region of Transylvania.

HOW TO GET TO BRASOV
If your flight is for Bucharest Airport, the capital of Romania, you can get from Bucharest to Brasov by car, bus or train.
What I can tell you is that if you travel by train it takes you about 2 hour and a half, to get from Bucharest to Brasov. From the front side of the airport, you can get bus 780 that goes directly to Gara de Nord (Bucharest Nord) Train Station. You can also take a taxi from the Airport to The Bucharest Nord Train Station, it should cost about 10 EURO, depends how busy is on the road.
The price of a train ticket, for one person, is 48.6 RON (that means 10.30 EUR). You can purchase a train ticket online, in advance, on the following official website of the national railway transport company, CFR CALATORI: https://bilete.cfrcalatori.ro/en-GB/Itineraries.
When you travel from Bucharest to Brasov by car, you can stop in Sinaia Mountain Resort, for visiting Peles and Pelisorul Castles, or in Busteni or Bran. Then, you can continue your travel to Brasov city.
WHAT COULD YOU DO IN BRASOV?
You can start your day, by walking on the cobbled streets from PIATA SFATULUI (the central square of the city).


The place has a special charm, is filled with lively terraces, shops, and restaurants and lots of multicolored and medieval baroque style buildings.
The name of the main street that heads to Piata Sfatului is Republicii street, a pedestrian area, where you can find the beautiful medieval buildings built in different architectural styles (gothic style, baroc style or Renaissance Style), many shops, restaurants, terraces.


The picturesque image is completed by THE BLACK CHURCH, which is about 600 years old and is the largest Gothic Church in Eastern Europe.You can visit the Black Church daily, from Tuesday to Saturday, from 10 a.m.to 7 p.m. and on Sunday from 12 a.m. to 7 p.m. The price of a ticket is 10 RON (2 EUR).


Besides these amazing tourist sights, you can visit The White Tower and The Black Tower, from where you can enjoy a fantastic top view.

Also, you can go hiking on Tampa Mountain, where you will find another great top view over Brasov city.

You can discover the narrowest street from Europe called Sforii Street.

You could visit the medieval fortresses Catherine Gate and Schei Gate.


In the place called After Walls, you can admire the walls of the medieval fortress.



You can discover in the Brasov area, a wide range of interesting places, such as museums, churches, Zoological Garden, Seven Ladders Canyon. You can go to Poiana Brasov, one of the largest ski resorts in the country.

HOW ARE THE ACCOMMODATION PRICES IN BRASOV:
If you want to stay, in the center of the city, near Piata Sfatului, you can find accommodation at reasonable prices. For example, for next month, August 2019, you can find accommodation starting with 40 EUR for a DOUBLE room, with breakfast inclusive. WHAT ELSE CAN YOU DO IN THE AREA?
Please, keep in mind that Brasov city is close by the mountain resorts Busteni, Sinaia, Predeal or Azuga and for these reason, you could go to the day-trips to these places. You can get by train from Brasov to these resorts. The journey lasts less than 1 hour.

For example, when you go to Sinaia, you can visit the amazing Peles Castle, Pelisor Castle, Sinaia Monastery, etc. The price of a ticket, starts from 30 RON – about 6.5 EUR for visiting Peles Castle(https://peles.ro/program-si-taxe/) and a ticket costs 20 RON– about 4 EUR, for visiting Pelisor Castle.

If you go to Busteni, you can admire the amazing views of the Bucegi Mountains, you can visit Caraiman Monastery or Cantacuzino Palace.

From Brasov, you could go to Bran Castle, known as Dracula’s Castle, located in Bran, less than 30 km from Brasov. You can buy online tickets from the official website: https://bilete.castelulbran.ro/en/ . A ticket price is 40 lei (less than 10 EUR) for one adult. Please, check the website above and you will find all the tickets fares detailed.
About 16 km away from Brasov, you will find Râșnov town. There you can visit Râșnov Fortress, an impressive historic monument. The fare entrance is 10 RON (about 2 euro).

Close to Râșnov Citadel, you will find Dino Park, an open-air museum and a recreation park, a great place if you travel with your children.
